The Orange County Sanitation District operates the third largest wastewater agency west of the Mississippi River. For over 60 years, we have safely collected, treated and disposed of and or reclaimed the wastewater generated by 2.5 million people living and working in central and northwestern Orange County.

County governments in the United States function as local administrative arms within the states.
