Product Engineer

Designs develops and maintains new products and works toward the improvement of existing product design. Provides technical support to marketing, manufacturing and customer service. Develops concepts into workable design applications in response to marketplace needs through modeling, prototyping, and testing. Studies and recommends techniques to improve existing products. Investigates customer complaints and collaborates with manufacturing and customer service departments on problem resolutions. Examines, inspects and analyzes in-house and competitive products. Prepares project proposals for presentation to management outlining new products to include purpose and scope, cost and time estimates, and resources needed. Implements and manages approved projects within established budgets and schedules. Keeps abreast of new developments, materials or processes for use in adaptations to company products. Writes and maintains product specification files. Provides engineering services to other departments as required.
