Job Description

The primary goal of AbbVie’s Strategy Leadership Program (SLP) is to recruit high performing individuals who have demonstrated an interest and expertise in the biopharma industry as well as a strong desire to deepen their understanding. Perform primary research and market analysis to characterize industry trends, develop cross-functional strategy, and identify potential investment opportunities. Review potential investment opportunities for scientific, commercial and financial viability, and lead the assessment and due diligence activities. Develop effective deal structure, risk mitigation and negotiating strategies for a target opportunity, ensuring alignment with AbbVie objectives and functional management. Actively review, monitor, and support the management of AbbVie’s portfolio companies by keeping abreast of developments within the companies via press coverage and exposure to portfolio company management and board of directors.

Job Qualifications

Industry, consulting, investment banking experience preferred, but not required
Demonstrated Interest in the business aspects of life sciences or healthcare, M&A, and licensing transactions
Currently pursuing or have completed an advanced degree with particular emphasis in the life sciences (i.e. PhD, PharmD, MD)
