  1. Conduct research and analysis to understand user needs and preferences related to our products.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate human factors engineering into the product development process.
  3. Evaluate design concepts and provide recommendations for improvement based on human factors principles.
  4. Identify potential use errors and provide solutions to mitigate risks.
  5. Plan and conduct usability testing and other validation activities.
  6. Interpret and analyze data from usability studies and provide actionable insights to inform product design.
  7. Develop and maintain human factors engineering processes and standards in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  8. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in human factors engineering.
  9. Train and mentor junior human factors engineers on best practices and methodologies.
  10. Communicate and collaborate with external stakeholders, such as regulatory agencies and healthcare professionals, to ensure compliance and gather feedback on product design.
  11. Participate in project meetings and provide human factors engineering expertise and guidance.
  12. Contribute to the development and execution of human factors related risk management activities.
  13. Collaborate with marketing and commercial teams to understand market trends and incorporate them into product design.
  14. Maintain documentation and records related to human factors engineering activities.
  15. Continuously improve and optimize human factors engineering processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree In Human Factors Engineering: A Senior Human Factors Engineer At Abbvie Should Possess A Master's Or Doctorate Degree In Human Factors Engineering Or A Related Field. This Advanced Education Provides The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Understand And Apply Human Factors Principles In The Development Of Medical Devices And Drug Delivery Systems.

  • Extensive Experience In Human Factors Research: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Have At Least 5-7 Years Of Experience Conducting Human Factors Research, Preferably In The Pharmaceutical Or Medical Device Industry. This Experience Should Include Designing And Executing Studies To Evaluate The Usability, Safety, And Effectiveness Of Medical Devices And Drug Delivery Systems.

  • Strong Understanding Of Regulatory Requirements: Abbvie Is A Highly Regulated Company, And The Senior Human Factors Engineer Must Have A Deep Understanding Of Relevant Regulations And Guidance Documents, Such As Fda's Human Factors Engineering Guidance And Iso 14971. This Knowledge Is Essential For Ensuring That All Human Factors Activities Comply With Regulatory Requirements.

  • Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills: As A Senior Human Factors Engineer, The Ability To Effectively Communicate And Collaborate With Cross-Functional Teams Is Crucial. This Role Requires Working Closely With Product Development, Regulatory, And Marketing Teams To Integrate Human Factors Considerations Into The Product Development Process. The Ideal Candidate Should Have Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills And The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Diverse Teams.

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: A Senior Human Factors Engineer Must Have Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills To Identify Usability Issues And Provide Design Recommendations To Improve The Safety, Effectiveness, And User Experience Of Medical Devices And Drug Delivery Systems.
