
Senior Manager, Environmental, Health and Safety

- Develop and implement strategies to ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, health and safety regulations, including local, state, and federal laws.
- Oversee the development and implementation of safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure a safe and sustainable work environment.
- Lead and mentor a team of EH&S professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure the department's goals and objectives are met.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety and sustainability principles into business processes and decision-making.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.
- Manage and maintain all necessary permits, licenses, and certifications related to environmental, health and safety.
- Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and stay up-to-date on changes to regulations and industry best practices.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators and metrics to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide training and resources to employees on safety procedures and best practices to promote a culture of safety within the organization.
- Develop and manage the department's budget and resources effectively to meet organizational goals.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure environmental sustainability initiatives are integrated into business practices.
- Stay informed on emerging trends and technologies in environmental, health and safety to continuously improve and innovate in the department.
- Act as a liaison between the company and external stakeholders on environmental, health and safety matters.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures to ensure preparedness for potential incidents.
- Continuously evaluate and improve the company's environmental, health and safety programs to minimize risk and promote sustainability.
Relevant Education And Experience: A Senior Manager Of Environmental, Health, And Safety At Abbvie Should Have A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field Such As Occupational Health And Safety, Environmental Science, Or Engineering. They Should Also Have At Least 8-10 Years Of Experience In A Similar Role, Preferably In The Pharmaceutical Or Biotechnology Industry.
Extensive Knowledge Of Ehs Regulations: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Local, State, And Federal Regulations Related To Environmental, Health, And Safety. They Should Be Able To Interpret And Apply These Regulations To Abbvie's Operations, Ensuring Compliance And Minimizing Risk.
Leadership And Management Skills: As A Senior Manager, This Individual Will Oversee A Team Of Ehs Professionals. They Should Have Strong Leadership And Management Skills, Including The Ability To Set And Communicate Clear Goals, Delegate Tasks Effectively, And Provide Constructive Feedback.
Risk Assessment And Mitigation Experience: The Senior Manager Will Be Responsible For Identifying Potential Hazards And Risks Within Abbvie's Operations And Developing Strategies To Mitigate And Manage Them. They Should Have Experience Conducting Risk Assessments And Implementing Risk Management Plans.
Communication And Collaboration Skills: The Senior Manager Will Need To Work Closely With Cross-Functional Teams, Including Operations, Legal, And Human Resources, To Ensure Ehs Policies And Procedures Are Understood And Followed. Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills Are Critical For Success In This Role.
