Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Assistant Merchant. As an Assistant Merchant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Merchant team in product selection, sourcing, and inventory management. We are looking for someone who is passionate about retail, has strong analytical skills, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.   1. Assist the Merchant team in selecting and sourcing quality products for our store.
  2. Manage inventory levels and ensure products are consistently stocked and available for customers.
  3. Collaborate with the Merchant team to develop and implement merchandising strategies.
  4. Conduct market research and monitor industry trends to identify new product opportunities.
  5. Collect and analyze data to make informed decisions on product assortment and pricing.
  6. Communicate effectively with vendors and negotiate pricing and terms.
  7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of product information, pricing, and supplier details.
  8. Ensure timely delivery of products by coordinating with vendors and our distribution center.
  9. Support the Merchant team in creating promotional and marketing plans for products.
  10. Monitor sales performance and make recommendations for improvement.
  11. Keep track of product returns and work with vendors to resolve any issues.
  12. Assist with visual merchandising and maintaining a visually appealing store layout.
  13. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing any product-related inquiries or concerns.
  14. Adhere to company policies and procedures, including health and safety protocols.
  15. Collaborate with other team members, including sales associates and store management, to ensure a positive and efficient work environment.

  • Knowledge Of Retail Industry: An Assistant Merchant At Ace Hardware Should Have A Deep Understanding Of The Retail Industry, Including Trends, Competitors, And Customer Preferences. This Knowledge Will Help In Making Informed Decisions About Product Selection And Pricing.

Strong Communication Skills, Both Verbal And Written, Are Essential For Success In This Role.
