  1. Coordinate Bed Assignments: The Bed Control Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating bed assignments for patients based on their medical needs, availability of beds, and specific unit requirements.
  2. Manage Discharge Process: This role will be responsible for managing the timely and efficient discharge process for patients, including coordinating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a smooth transition.
  3. Maintain Bed Availability: The Bed Control Coordinator will constantly monitor and update bed availability in the hospital, ensuring that all beds are utilized efficiently and effectively.
  4. Communicate with Care Team: This position will require frequent communication with physicians, nurses, and other members of the care team to ensure that bed assignments and discharges are coordinated effectively.
  5. Uphold Patient Care Standards: The Bed Control Coordinator will play a crucial role in upholding the hospital's mission of providing whole-person care by ensuring that patients are assigned to appropriate beds and receive timely discharges.
  6. Document and Track Bed Utilization: This role will be responsible for accurately documenting and tracking bed utilization data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  7. Collaborate with Other Departments: The Bed Control Coordinator will work closely with other departments such as the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit to ensure a smooth flow of patients throughout the hospital.
  8. Handle Bed Requests: This position will be responsible for handling bed requests from various departments and ensuring that beds are assigned in a timely and efficient manner.
  9. Maintain Patient Privacy: The Bed Control Coordinator must adhere to all patient privacy regulations and ensure that patient information is kept confidential at all times.
  10. Provide Exceptional Customer Service: This role will require excellent communication and customer service skills to effectively handle patient and family inquiries and concerns related to bed assignments and discharges.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Healthcare Administration, Business Management, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Bed Management Or A Similar Role In A Hospital Setting.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Hospital Operations, Including Bed Capacity Management, Patient Flow, And Discharge Planning.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate Effectively With Various Departments And Staff Members.

  • Proficiency In Computer Systems And Software Used For Bed Management And Patient Tracking.
