- Provide compassionate and quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
- Assist physicians in delivering medical care and treatments to patients.
- Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Take and record patient vitals, medical histories, and current medications.
- Administer medications, injections, and other treatments as directed by physicians.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and collect and prepare specimens for testing.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
- Assist with scheduling appointments, referrals, and follow-up care.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and privacy is maintained at all times.
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current on medical procedures and protocols.

Completion Of An Accredited Medical Assistant Program: The Ideal Candidate For An Outpatient Medical Assistant Position At Adventhealth Must Have Completed An Accredited Program In Medical Assisting. This Ensures That They Have Received The Necessary Education And Training To Perform The Job Duties Effectively.
Certification As A Medical Assistant: A Certification From A Recognized Organization Such As The American Association Of Medical Assistants (Aama) Or The National Healthcareer Association (Nha) Is Highly Preferred. This Certification Demonstrates A Level Of Competency And Commitment To The Profession.
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Procedures: A Medical Assistant At Adventhealth Must Have A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology, As Well As The Ability To Perform Basic Medical Procedures Such As Taking Vital Signs, Administering Medications, And Performing Basic Lab Tests.
Experience In An Outpatient Setting: Previous Experience Working In An Outpatient Or Ambulatory Care Setting Is Highly Desirable. This Experience Demonstrates An Understanding Of The Unique Challenges And Demands Of This Type Of Healthcare Setting.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Medical Assistant, It Is Essential To Have Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals. This Includes The Ability To Show Empathy And Compassion, As Well As The Ability To Communicate Effectively With Patients From Diverse Backgrounds.
