
Medical Assistant (Outpatient), Women's Health

- Greet and welcome patients in a warm and professional manner, creating a positive first impression of AdventHealth.
- Assist with patient check-in and registration processes, ensuring accuracy of all necessary information.
- Escort patients to exam rooms and communicate any delays or changes in schedule to them.
- Take and record vital signs, patient history, and other necessary information accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare exam rooms and ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are available for each patient visit.
- Assist healthcare providers with procedures and exams, providing support and comfort to patients as needed.
- Administer medications and vaccinations according to established protocols and provider orders.
- Perform in-office testing and procedures, such as collecting specimens and conducting pregnancy tests.
- Educate patients on women's health topics, including contraception, prenatal care, and menopause.
- Document all patient interactions and procedures accurately and completely in electronic medical records.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including exam rooms and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and other healthcare team members to ensure high-quality and coordinated care.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current on women's health topics and best practices.
- Adhere to all AdventHealth policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Provide excellent customer service, responding to patient inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Certification: A Medical Assistant (Outpatient), Women's Health At Adventhealth Should Possess A Valid Certification From An Accredited Program Such As The Certified Medical Assistant (Cma) Or Registered Medical Assistant (Rma).
Experience: A Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience Working In An Outpatient Setting, Preferably In Women's Health, Is Required For This Position. This Ensures The Candidate Has A Thorough Understanding Of Medical Terminology, Patient Care, And Clinic Operations.
Knowledge Of Women's Health: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Women's Health Issues, Including Gynecological And Obstetric Care. This Includes Knowledge Of Common Procedures, Medications, And Equipment Used In Women's Health.
Technical Skills: Proficiency In Electronic Medical Records (Emr), Medical Coding, And Insurance Billing Are Essential For This Role. Experience With Specialized Software For Scheduling Appointments And Managing Patient Records Is Also Preferred.
Communication And Interpersonal Skills: A Medical Assistant (Outpatient), Women's Health At Adventhealth Must Possess Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals. The Ability To Provide Compassionate Care And Maintain Patient Confidentiality Is Also Crucial.
