1. Safely transport patients to and from various locations within the hospital, including but not limited to, patient rooms, treatment areas, and diagnostic testing areas.
2. Ensure patients are comfortable and positioned properly during transportation, taking into consideration their medical conditions and needs.
3. Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, their families, and other healthcare team members to provide a positive and caring experience for patients.
4. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including proper use of equipment, to ensure the safety and well-being of patients and staff.
5. Maintain accurate records of patient transport activities, including documenting any delays or issues that may arise during transportation.
6. Monitor and report any changes in a patient's condition or behavior during transportation to the appropriate healthcare providers.
7. Assist with transferring patients to and from beds, wheelchairs, and stretchers, utilizing proper body mechanics and techniques to prevent injury.
8. Keep transport equipment clean and in good working condition, reporting any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate department.
9. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay up-to-date on safety procedures, patient transport techniques, and hospital policies.
10. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations at all times.
11. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to provide excellent patient care and support.
12. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager to contribute to the overall success of the department and hospital.
