  1. Dispensing Medications: The Senior Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for accurately dispensing medications to patients in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  2. Patient Care: This role requires the Senior Pharmacy Technician to have a strong focus on patient care. They will be responsible for answering any questions or concerns from patients regarding their medications and providing them with any necessary information.
  3. Inventory Management: The Senior Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining inventory levels of medications and supplies, ensuring that there is an adequate supply at all times.
  4. Record Keeping: The Senior Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all medications and their corresponding patients.
  5. Teamwork: This role requires the ability to work well in a team environment, collaborating with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible patient care.
  6. Compliance: The Senior Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for adhering to all state and federal regulations, as well as company policies and procedures, to ensure the safe and proper handling of medications.
  7. Quality Control: The Senior Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for performing quality control checks on medications and equipment, reporting any discrepancies or issues to the pharmacist.
  8. Training and Mentoring: As a senior member of the team, this individual may be responsible for training and mentoring new pharmacy technicians, ensuring that they are adhering to all policies and procedures.
  9. Efficiency: The Senior Pharmacy Technician will be expected to work efficiently and accurately, ensuring that medications are prepared and delivered in a timely manner to meet the needs of the patients.
  10. Professional Development: This role requires the Senior Pharmacy Technician to stay updated on new medications and industry developments, attending trainings and conferences as needed to maintain their knowledge and skills.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Experience As A Pharmacy Technician In A Hospital Setting.

  • Completion Of A Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (Ptcb) Or National Healthcareer Association (Nha) Certification Program.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Pharmaceutical Calculations, Drug Distribution Systems, And Medication Inventory Management.

  • Ability To Train And Supervise Junior Pharmacy Technicians, As Well As Assist With Performance Evaluations And Scheduling.

  • Familiarity With Electronic Medical Records (Emrs) And Pharmacy Computer Systems, Such As Pyxis And Omnicell.
