- Provide compassionate and comprehensive care to patients and families in the ED Behavioral Health Program.
- Assist patients and families in navigating the complexities of mental health and behavioral issues.
- Work closely with interdisciplinary team to provide support, resources, and advocacy for individuals in crisis.
- Conduct thorough assessments to identify patient needs and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Educate patients and families on available resources and support services.
- Collaborate with community agencies and organizations to ensure continuity of care for patients.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions and progress.
- Advocate for the rights and needs of patients and families.
- Provide crisis intervention and support to patients and families in distress.
- Stay updated on current research, best practices, and regulations related to mental health and behavioral health.
- Participate in team meetings and case conferences to discuss patient progress and treatment plans.
- Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality in all interactions with patients and families.
- Demonstrate empathy, patience, and sensitivity towards patients and families from diverse backgrounds.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude while representing AdventHealth.
- Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in the provision of social work services.
Master's Degree In Social Work: A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Social Work Is Typically Required For A Social Worker Position At Adventhealth. This Advanced Degree Provides The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Effectively Assess And Address The Behavioral Health Needs Of Patients.
Licensure: Candidates Must Be Licensed As A Clinical Social Worker (Lcsw) In The State Where They Will Be Working. This Ensures That The Social Worker Has Met The Necessary Educational And Experiential Requirements To Provide Clinical Services.
Experience In Behavioral Health: Adventhealth Is Looking For Candidates With A Strong Background In Behavioral Health, Specifically In An Emergency Department Setting. Previous Experience Working With Patients Who Have Mental Health And/Or Substance Abuse Issues Is Highly Valued.
Crisis Intervention Skills: The Ed Behavioral Health Program At Adventhealth Deals With Patients In Crisis On A Daily Basis. Therefore, A Social Worker Must Have The Ability To Perform Effective Crisis Interventions, Including De-Escalation Techniques And Risk Assessments.
Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills: As Part Of A Multidisciplinary Team, A Social Worker Must Be Able To Communicate Effectively With Other Healthcare Professionals, As Well As With Patients And Their Families. This Includes Being Able To Collaborate And Develop Treatment Plans That Address The Unique Needs Of Each Patient.
