Surgical Technician - OB

AdventHealth is seeking a skilled and compassionate Surgical Technician to join our Obstetrics team. 1. Assist in surgical procedures: The Surgical Technician will be responsible for assisting the surgical team in various obstetrics procedures, including but not limited to C-sections, hysterectomies, and other gynecological surgeries.
2. Prepare operating room: The Surgical Technician will be responsible for ensuring the surgical room is properly set up and all necessary equipment is in place before the start of each procedure.
3. Sterilize equipment: The Surgical Technician will be responsible for sterilizing and maintaining surgical instruments and equipment to ensure a safe and sterile environment for patients.
4. Monitor patient vitals: The Surgical Technician will be responsible for monitoring and recording patient vitals during surgery, including blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen levels.
5. Provide support to surgeons: The Surgical Technician will assist the surgeon during procedures by passing instruments, holding retractors, and performing other tasks as needed.
6. Prepare patients for surgery: The Surgical Technician will be responsible for preparing patients for surgery, including positioning them on the operating table and cleaning and prepping the surgical site.
7. Maintain inventory: The Surgical Technician will be responsible for keeping track of inventory and ordering necessary supplies to ensure the operating room is fully stocked.
8. Communicate with team members: The Surgical Technician will need to effectively communicate with surgeons, nurses, and other team members to ensure a smooth and efficient surgical process.
9. Adhere to safety protocols: The Surgical Technician must follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe environment for patients and themselves.
10. Provide compassionate care: The Surgical Technician will be responsible for providing compassionate and empathetic care to patients, especially during vulnerable moments in the delivery of new life.
11. Maintain confidentiality: The Surgical Technician must maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
