- Provide primary care services to patients, including conducting physical exams, diagnosing and treating acute and chronic illnesses, and prescribing medications.
- Develop and implement patient care plans based on individual needs and in accordance with evidence-based practice guidelines.
- Educate patients on disease prevention, health maintenance, and self-care strategies.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care and ensure continuity of care for patients.
- Utilize advanced clinical skills and knowledge to assess, diagnose, and manage complex medical conditions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care in electronic health records.
- Monitor and track patient outcomes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing interventions to optimize patient care.
- Stay informed about current healthcare trends and developments, incorporating new knowledge and skills into practice.
- Demonstrate compassion and empathy towards patients and their families, providing emotional support and advocating for their needs.
- Adhere to all regulatory, professional, and organizational standards and guidelines.
- Act as a resource and mentor for nursing staff and other healthcare professionals.

Master's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Program: A Nurse Practitioner (Primary Care) At Aetna Must Have A Master's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Program. This Advanced Education Provides The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Work In A Primary Care Setting.
Current Licensure As A Nurse Practitioner: Aetna Requires All Nurse Practitioners (Primary Care) To Hold A Current And Unrestricted License As A Nurse Practitioner In The State Where They Will Be Practicing. This Ensures That The Candidate Has Met All The Necessary Requirements And Is Legally Able To Practice As A Nurse Practitioner.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Primary Care: Aetna Prefers Candidates With At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Primary Care Setting. This Experience Allows The Nurse Practitioner To Have A Strong Foundation In Providing Comprehensive And Patient-Centered Care.
Certification As A Family Or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner: Aetna Requires Certification As A Family Or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner. This Certification Demonstrates The Candidate's Proficiency In Caring For Patients Across The Lifespan And In A Primary Care Setting.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Primary Care Provider, A Nurse Practitioner At Aetna Must Have Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Patients, Families, And Interdisciplinary Healthcare Teams.
