
Medical Assistant Neurology

- Greet and welcome patients in a warm and friendly manner, creating a positive first impression of Allina Health System and our Neurology department.
- Assist with patient check-in, verify and update patient information, and ensure all necessary paperwork is complete.
- Collaborate with providers to ensure patients receive the necessary care and treatment during their visit.
- Prepare exam rooms and equipment for patient exams, procedures, and treatments.
- Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and other pertinent patient information.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by providers.
- Assist with patient education and provide resources for patients and their families.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including stocking and ordering supplies.
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of high-quality care.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols and procedures.
- Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and stay up-to-date on current medical practices and procedures.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment, supporting and assisting colleagues as needed.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Other duties as assigned by the Neurology department manager or healthcare providers.
Completion Of An Accredited Medical Assistant Program: Candidates Must Have Completed A Formal Education Program In Medical Assisting From An Accredited Institution.
Certified Medical Assistant (Cma) Or Registered Medical Assistant (Rma) Certification: Certification From Either The American Association Of Medical Assistants (Aama) Or American Medical Technologists (Amt) Is Required.
Knowledge Of Neurology Procedures And Treatments: Candidates Should Have A Strong Understanding Of The Diagnostic And Treatment Procedures Used In Neurology, Including Administering Medication, Assisting With Procedures, And Performing Patient Assessments.
Experience With Electronic Medical Records (Emr) Systems: Allina Health System Uses An Emr System For Patient Records, So Candidates Should Have Experience Working With This Type Of Software.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Medical Assistant In Neurology, Candidates Will Work Closely With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals, So Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential.
