- Oversee and manage the maintenance operations of the American Airlines fleet.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and safety standards.
- Develop and implement maintenance policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Monitor and analyze maintenance data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Manage and lead a team of maintenance control personnel, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments and teams, such as flight operations and engineering, to coordinate maintenance activities and resolve issues.
- Prepare and present reports to senior management on the status of maintenance operations and any potential risks or issues.
- Monitor aircraft maintenance schedules and ensure timely completion of all required maintenance tasks.
- Oversee budgeting and cost control for maintenance operations.
- Stay informed about industry developments, regulations, and best practices in aviation maintenance to continuously improve processes and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and regulatory agencies.
- Foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the maintenance control team.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback and coaching to team members.
- Participate in emergency response procedures and support incident investigations as needed.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service when interacting with colleagues and customers.
Extensive Knowledge Of Aircraft Maintenance Procedures And Regulations: A Manager, Maintenance Control At American Airlines Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Faa Regulations And Industry Standards Related To Aircraft Maintenance. This Includes Knowledge Of Inspection Procedures, Maintenance Schedules, And Aircraft Systems.
Strong Leadership Skills: As A Manager, This Role Requires The Ability To Effectively Lead And Manage A Team Of Maintenance Control Personnel. This Includes Setting Clear Expectations, Providing Guidance And Support, And Promoting A Positive And Productive Work Environment.
Excellent Communication Skills: The Manager, Maintenance Control Must Be Able To Communicate Effectively With Various Departments, Including Maintenance, Operations, And Dispatch. This Role Also Requires The Ability To Communicate With External Stakeholders, Such As Vendors And Regulatory Agencies.
Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: This Position Involves Making Critical Decisions And Solving Complex Problems Related To Aircraft Maintenance. The Manager, Maintenance Control Must Possess Strong Analytical Skills And The Ability To Think Critically To Identify And Resolve Issues Quickly And Efficiently.
Experience In Airline Maintenance Operations: American Airlines Requires Candidates For This Role To Have Previous Experience In Airline Maintenance Operations. This Includes Knowledge Of Maintenance Control Procedures, Scheduling, And Resource Management. Previous Experience In A Leadership Or Supervisory Position Is Also Preferred.
