Job Description

As a Team Lead in the Accounts Payable department at American Airlines, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our financial processes.   1. Lead and manage a team of accounts payable professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure high performance and productivity.

  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement and finance, to streamline and improve the accounts payable process.
  4. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, ensuring timely and accurate payments and resolving any payment discrepancies or issues.
  5. Monitor and analyze accounts payable data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement and cost savings.
  6. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal controls related to accounts payable.
  7. Develop and maintain process documentation and standard operating procedures for the accounts payable function.
  8. Train and onboard new team members, providing them with the necessary tools and resources to succeed in their roles.
  9. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and development opportunities to team members.
  10. Collaborate with senior management to develop strategies and goals for the accounts payable department and contribute to overall company financial objectives.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Accounting, Finance, Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Accounts Payable, Preferably In A Leadership Role.

  • Strong Understanding Of Gaap And Accounting Principles.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Lead And Manage A Team.

  • Proficiency In Accounting Software And Microsoft Excel.
