
Heat Treat Engineer
American Axle & Manufacturing (AAM) is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Heat Treat Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining the heat treat process for all automotive components produced at the AAM facility. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy or Materials Science and a minimum of 5 years of experience in the heat treat industry. They should also be knowledgeable in process control, statistical process control (SPC) and Lean/Six Sigma principles. The Heat Treat Engineer must have strong communication and problem-solving skills and be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with other teams. Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the heat treat process for all automotive components produced at the AAM facility.
- Ensure process control, statistical process control (SPC) and Lean/Six Sigma principles are followed.
- Develop innovative solutions to improve the heat treat process.
- Troubleshoot and address any issues that arise with the heat treat process.
- Keep up with industry trends and developments in heat treating technology.
- Analyze and interpret data to make process improvements.
- Work collaboratively with other teams to ensure the heat treat process is optimized.
- Ensure all safety protocols are adhered to during the heat treat process.
- Provide technical support and advice as necessary.
