Job Description

At American Axle & Manufacturing (AAM), we are always looking for innovative and driven professionals to join our team. We are currently seeking a high-caliber Senior Controls Engineer to join our Controls Engineering team and lead the development of our next generation of advanced controls systems. This position requires an individual with a passion for engineering and a commitment to excellence and innovation.The ideal candidate for this role should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in Controls Systems Engineering, with a strong background in hardware and software development. In addition, the Senior Controls Engineer must have proven experience in the design, implementation, and debugging of control algorithms and systems. The ideal candidate should also have a strong understanding of sensors, actuators, motors, and other electromechanical devices. A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the development of advanced control systems for AAM.
  2. Design, implement, and debug control algorithms and systems.
  3. Troubleshoot and optimize existing control systems.
  4. Monitor and maintain performance of control systems.
  5. Develop testing processes and procedures for control systems.
  6. Research and evaluate new technologies for use in control systems.
  7. Develop and maintain documentation for control systems.
  8. Provide technical support to engineering teams and other departments within the organization.
  9. Ensure compliance with all applicable industry standards and regulations.
  10. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
