Job Description

American Axle & Manufacturing-AAM is seeking an experienced Senior Heat Treat Engineer to join our dynamic team. This individual will be responsible for leading the Heat Treat Department in the development and implementation of new heat treat processes and technologies. This position will also be responsible for troubleshooting existing processes, developing innovative solutions, and leading continuous improvement initiatives.The ideal candidate for this role should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science or a related field, as well as at least 10 years of experience in the heat treat industry, preferably in a supervisory role. The Senior Heat Treat Engineer should have a strong understanding of heat treat processes and materials, as well as the ability to identify and correct problems. A successful candidate must be highly organized and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the Heat Treat Department in the development and implementation of new heat treat processes and technologies.
  2. Troubleshoot existing processes and develop innovative solutions.
  3. Lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  4. Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science or a related field.
  5. Have at least 10 years of experience in the heat treat industry, preferably in a supervisory role.
  6. Have a strong understanding of heat treat processes and materials.
  7. Identify and correct problems.
  8. Be highly organized and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  9. Work independently and as part of a team.
