Job Description

American Axle & Manufacturing-AAM is looking for a highly motivated Senior Structural Analysis Engineer to join its dynamic and talented engineering team. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with a demonstrated record of accomplishment in the structural analysis field. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background, excellent problem solving skills, and a desire to take on complex engineering challenges.Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Aerospace Engineering• 5+ years of structural analysis experience, preferably with a combination of automotive and aerospace experience• Proven expertise in using a variety of structural analysis tools such as FEA, CFD, and/or optimization algorithms• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences• Excellent organizational and project management skills• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment

Responsibilities:

  1. Design and perform structural analysis of automotive and aerospace components and systems using FEA, CFD, and optimization algorithms.
  2. Develop and implement innovative solutions to complex engineering problems.
  3. Prepare technical reports and presentations to document the results of analysis activities.
  4. Interface with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that projects are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  5. Collaborate with other engineering teams to ensure that structural requirements are met.
  6. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and customers.
  7. Stay abreast of relevant industry trends and technologies, and share knowledge with colleagues.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.
