Job Description

The Manager Social Impact Communications at American Express is a unique role with an opportunity for someone with exceptional communication skills and a passion for making a positive impact in the world to join our dynamic team. We are looking for an experienced, creative, and highly motivated individual to lead and develop our social impact and communications strategy. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of the most effective and innovative ways to communicate and engage with our stakeholders.The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in communications and/or public relations, preferably in a corporate setting. They should be an excellent communicator, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively engage with a wide range of stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of the global social impact landscape, with a passion for creating meaningful and impactful change. The individual should also be adept at developing relationships with key stakeholders and influencers, as well as have an understanding of traditional and digital media relations. This individual should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and lead communications and social impact strategies for American Express
  2. Develop relationships with key stakeholders and influencers
  3. Engage with a wide range of stakeholders in an effective and creative manner
  4. Utilize traditional and digital media relations to spread social impact messaging
  5. Monitor the global social impact landscape to create meaningful and impactful change
  6. Work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  7. Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
