  1. Underwrite a portfolio of light aviation risks in accordance with company guidelines and standards.
  2. Evaluate and assess risk exposures, coverage needs, and potential losses for individual accounts.
  3. Perform thorough analysis of underwriting data, including loss trends, financial statements, and market conditions.
  4. Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, agents, and clients to provide exceptional service and support.
  5. Collaborate with other team members and departments to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities.
  6. Conduct regular reviews and audits of underwriting files to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  7. Stay updated on industry trends, developments, and regulations to make informed underwriting decisions.
  8. Provide guidance and support to junior underwriters and assist with their professional development.
  9. Monitor and report on the performance of the light aviation portfolio and make recommendations for improvements.
  10. Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex underwriting issues and inquiries.
  11. Ensure that all underwriting activities are conducted in an ethical and responsible manner.
  12. Participate in company meetings, training sessions, and events to promote our brand and contribute to our success.
  13. Contribute to the development and implementation of underwriting strategies and goals.
  14. Continuously review and enhance underwriting processes and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  15. Maintain accurate and up-to-date underwriting records and documentation.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Knowledge Of Aviation Industry: A Senior Underwriter In Light Aviation At American International Group Should Possess A Deep Understanding Of The Aviation Industry, Including Aircraft Types, Regulations, And Market Trends.

  • Strong Analytical Skills: As An Underwriter, The Ability To Analyze Complex Data And Make Sound Decisions Is Crucial. A Senior Underwriter Should Have Strong Analytical Skills To Assess Risk And Determine Appropriate Insurance Coverage.

  • Experience In Underwriting Light Aviation Risks: Candidates For This Role Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Underwriting Light Aviation Risks. This Experience Should Include Working With Various Types Of Aircraft And Understanding The Unique Risks Associated With Each.

  • Excellent Communication And Negotiation Skills: A Senior Underwriter Will Be Responsible For Building Relationships With Brokers And Clients, As Well As Negotiating Terms And Conditions Of Insurance Policies. Therefore, Strong Communication And Negotiation Skills Are Essential For Success In This Role.
