
Zonal Underwriting Manager, Retail Property

- Develop and implement underwriting strategies and guidelines for retail property in the designated zone.
- Oversee and manage the underwriting process, including risk assessment, pricing, and policy issuance.
- Lead a team of underwriters and provide training and guidance to ensure a high level of underwriting expertise.
- Collaborate with other departments such as sales, marketing, and claims to ensure alignment and consistency in underwriting decisions.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to team members to drive continuous improvement.
- Evaluate market trends and competitor activities to make informed decisions and adjust underwriting strategies accordingly.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, and other stakeholders to drive business growth and retention.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements in all underwriting activities.
- Continuously monitor and analyze key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
- Represent the company at industry events and conferences to promote AIG's products and services.
- Participate in the development and implementation of new underwriting products and solutions.
- Maintain a culture of excellence and professionalism within the underwriting team and promote a positive working environment.
- Stay updated on industry developments and changes in underwriting practices to ensure AIG remains competitive in the market.
- Collaborate with the regional and global underwriting teams to share best practices and drive consistency across all zones.
- Adhere to AIG's code of conduct and ethical standards in all interactions and decisions.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Underwriting Retail Property Insurance, With A Strong Understanding Of The Market And Industry Trends.
Bachelor's Degree In Insurance, Business Administration, Or Related Field. Advanced Degree Or Professional Designation (E.g. Cpcu, Arm) Preferred.
Proven Track Record Of Successfully Managing A Team Of Underwriters And Achieving Profitable Growth.
Excellent Analytical Skills And Ability To Interpret Data To Make Informed Underwriting Decisions.
Strong Communication And Negotiation Skills, With The Ability To Build And Maintain Relationships With Clients, Brokers, And Internal Stakeholders.
