  1. Greet and engage with donors in a friendly and professional manner, creating a positive and welcoming environment for blood donations.
  2. Accurately collect and record donor information, ensuring confidentiality and following all necessary protocols.
  3. Conduct pre-donation interviews to assess donor eligibility and address any concerns or questions.
  4. Perform phlebotomy procedures to collect blood donations from donors, following all safety and cleanliness guidelines.
  5. Monitor donors during and after the donation process, providing care and assistance as needed.
  6. Educate donors on the importance of blood donations and answer any questions or concerns.
  7. Maintain accurate and organized records of donor information and donation data.
  8. Assist with donor recruitment and retention efforts, promoting the importance of blood donations and the services of the American Red Cross.
  9. Adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulations related to blood collection and donor care.
  10. Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth and efficient operations during blood drives and other donation events.
  11. Provide exceptional customer service to donors, volunteers, and staff to create a positive and supportive environment.
  12. Participate in ongoing training and development programs to stay updated on best practices and regulations related to blood collection.
  13. Maintain a clean and organized work area, following infection control and safety guidelines.
  14. Represent the American Red Cross in a professional and respectful manner, upholding the organization's values and mission.
  15. Attend and actively participate in team meetings and other organizational events as required.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Donors, Staff, And Other Stakeholders Is Essential For A Blood Collection Staff – Customer Service Job. This Includes Being Able To Explain Procedures, Answer Questions, And Provide Information In A Clear And Professional Manner.

  • Medical Knowledge: Blood Collection Staff Must Have A Working Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Basic Understanding Of The Human Body, Blood, And Blood Donation Process. This Includes Knowledge Of Safety Protocols, Proper Handling And Storage Of Blood Products, And Infection Control Procedures.

  • Customer Service Experience: Previous Experience In A Customer Service Role Is Highly Desirable For This Position. Blood Collection Staff Will Be Interacting With Donors From Diverse Backgrounds, And Must Be Able To Provide A Positive And Welcoming Experience For Each Donor.

  • Attention To Detail: Precise And Accurate Record Keeping Is Essential In The Blood Collection Process. Blood Collection Staff Must Have Strong Attention To Detail To Ensure That All Information Is Recorded Accurately And Consistently.

  • Teamwork And Flexibility: The American Red Cross Is A Fast-Paced And Dynamic Organization, And Blood Collection Staff Must Be Able To Work Well In A Team Environment. They Should Also Be Adaptable And Flexible, As The Needs Of The Organization And Donors May Change Quickly.
