  1. Schedule blood donation appointments efficiently and effectively, ensuring a steady supply of blood for those in need.
  2. Communicate with donors, blood drive coordinators, and other stakeholders to coordinate and confirm appointments.
  3. Provide excellent customer service to donors, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
  4. Maintain accurate and organized records of donor information and appointments.
  5. Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth flow and operation of the call center.
  6. Adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulations related to blood donation and the American Red Cross.
  7. Utilize computer systems and software to accurately schedule appointments and maintain donor information.
  8. Remain up-to-date on blood donation policies, procedures, and best practices to provide accurate information to donors.
  9. Handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  10. Display a positive and professional attitude at all times, representing the American Red Cross in a positive light.
  11. Meet and exceed performance targets for appointment scheduling and donor retention.
  12. Participate in training and development opportunities to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
  13. Take initiative to problem-solve and find solutions to any issues that may arise during the appointment scheduling process.
  14. Collaborate with other departments and teams within the American Red Cross to support blood donation efforts and initiatives.
  15. Assist with special projects and tasks as assigned by management.

  • Strong Communication Skills: The Call Center Blood Scheduler Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Blood Donors, Volunteers, And Other Team Members Both Verbally And In Writing. They Should Have A Professional And Empathetic Demeanor To Handle Potentially Sensitive Or Urgent Situations.

  • Organizational Skills: This Role Requires Excellent Time Management And Organizational Skills To Efficiently Schedule Blood Donations And Maintain Accurate Records. The Call Center Blood Scheduler Must Also Be Able To Handle Multiple Tasks And Prioritize Effectively.

  • Attention To Detail: Accuracy Is Crucial In Maintaining Donor And Scheduling Information. The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Keen Eye For Detail And Be Able To Spot And Correct Any Errors In Data Entry.

  • Customer Service Experience: As The Primary Point Of Contact For Blood Donors, The Call Center Blood Scheduler Must Have Previous Customer Service Experience. This Includes The Ability To Handle Difficult Or Upset Donors And Provide Exceptional Service To Ensure A Positive Donor Experience.

  • Medical Knowledge: While Not Always Required, Previous Medical Knowledge Or Experience In A Healthcare Setting Can Be Beneficial For This Role. This May Include Basic Understanding Of Medical Terminology, Blood Donation Process, And Health And Safety Protocols.
