Job Description

We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Disaster Program Manager to join our team and lead our disaster relief efforts.As the Disaster Program Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing and coordinating disaster preparedness, response, and recovery programs in your assigned region. You will work closely with volunteers, community partners, and government agencies to ensure our response efforts are efficient, effective, and impactful.To be successful in this role, you must have a strong background in disaster management, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the American Red Cross mission.   1. Oversee disaster preparedness, response, and recovery programs in the assigned region.
  2. Coordinate with volunteers, community partners, and government agencies to ensure efficient and effective disaster relief efforts.
  3. Develop and maintain disaster response plans and protocols.
  4. Conduct training and preparedness activities for volunteers and community members.
  5. Monitor and assess the impact of disasters in the region and provide timely updates to the organization.
  6. Manage and allocate resources, including personnel, supplies, and equipment, for disaster response.
  7. Maintain and update partnerships with local organizations and agencies for collaborative disaster relief efforts.
  8. Develop and implement strategies to engage and empower community members in disaster preparedness and response.
  9. Provide leadership and guidance to disaster response teams, ensuring they adhere to the American Red Cross mission and values.
  10. Collaborate with other Disaster Program Managers and regional leadership to share best practices and coordinate efforts.
  11. Serve as a spokesperson for the organization in the event of a disaster, communicating with media and the public about relief efforts.
  12. Monitor and adhere to budget guidelines for disaster relief efforts.
  13. Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
  14. Continuously evaluate and improve disaster response plans and procedures.
  15. Document and report on the outcomes and impact of disaster relief efforts in the assigned region.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Emergency Management, Public Health, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Disaster Response And Management.

  • Strong Project Management Skills, With The Ability To Plan, Organize, And Implement Disaster Relief Programs.

  • Knowledge Of Fema Guidelines And Regulations, As Well As Experience Working With Government Agencies And Community Partners.

  • Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Coordinate And Lead Teams In High-Stress Situations.
