- Maintain accurate records and documentation of donor information and blood collection procedures.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operation of the donor center.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to maintain phlebotomy skills and knowledge of blood donation procedures.
- Adhere to all regulatory and accreditation standards related to blood donation, including HIPAA, OSHA, and AABB.
- Assist with recruitment and retention of blood donors through community outreach and marketing efforts.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Certification In Phlebotomy: Candidates For A Donor Center Phlebotomist Job At American Red Cross Must Possess A Valid Certification In Phlebotomy From An Accredited Institution. This Certification Demonstrates The Individual's Knowledge And Proficiency In Performing Phlebotomy Procedures.
Experience In Blood Collection: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience In Blood Collection, Preferably In A Donor Center Or Blood Bank Setting. This Experience Should Include Venipuncture, Finger Sticks, And Knowledge Of Blood Collection Equipment And Procedures.
Knowledge Of Safety And Infection Control: Donor Center Phlebotomists Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Safety And Infection Control Protocols To Ensure The Safety Of Donors And Staff. This Includes Proper Handling And Disposal Of Blood Products, Maintaining A Clean And Sterile Work Environment, And Adhering To Osha Regulations.
Strong Communication Skills: Donor Center Phlebotomists Must Have Excellent Communication Skills To Interact With Donors, Staff, And Other Healthcare Professionals. They Must Be Able To Explain The Blood Donation Process, Answer Questions, And Provide Post-Donation Care Instructions To Donors.
