- Monitor donor reactions and respond appropriately, providing care and support as needed.
- Utilize excellent technical skills to perform venipunctures and other blood collection procedures.
- Educate and inform donors about the donation process and the importance of their contribution.
- Adhere to all regulatory and organizational policies and procedures, including HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
- Collaborate with other members of the donor center team to ensure smooth operations and a positive donor experience.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to maintain and improve skills.
- Maintain accurate records and complete necessary paperwork for each donation.
- Serve as a positive representative of the American Red Cross and its mission.
- Demonstrate a commitment to quality and accuracy in all job duties.

Certification In Phlebotomy: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Possess A Valid Certification In Phlebotomy From A Recognized Institution. This Certification Should Demonstrate A Thorough Understanding Of Phlebotomy Techniques And Procedures, As Well As Safety Protocols.
Previous Experience: A Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience Working As A Phlebotomist Is Preferred For This Position. Previous Experience In A Donor Center Or Blood Bank Setting Is Highly Desirable.
Knowledge Of Blood Collection Procedures: The Candidate Should Have A Comprehensive Understanding Of Blood Collection Procedures, Including Venipuncture, Fingerstick, And Donor Screening Processes. They Should Also Be Familiar With Osha Regulations And Safety Protocols Related To Blood Collection.
Excellent Communication Skills: The Ability To Communicate Effectively With Donors, Coworkers, And Other Healthcare Professionals Is Essential For This Role. The Candidate Should Possess Strong Verbal And Written Communication Skills And Be Able To Explain Procedures, Answer Questions, And Provide Clear Instructions.
