Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Donor Center Phlebotomist to join our team and play a vital role in saving lives through blood donation. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to use your phlebotomy skills to collect life-saving donations and provide exceptional customer service to our donors.   1. Perform phlebotomy procedures safely and accurately on blood donors.
  2. Follow established protocols and procedures for collecting and handling blood donations.
  3. Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and calibrated for accurate results.
  4. Provide excellent customer service to donors, including answering questions and addressing concerns.
  5. Maintain proper documentation and records of donor information and blood collections.
  6. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  7. Communicate effectively with team members and donors to ensure a smooth donation process.
  8. Assist with donor recruitment and retention efforts through positive interactions with donors.
  9. Participate in training and continuous education to maintain and improve phlebotomy skills.
  10. Collaborate with other team members to achieve department goals and objectives.
  11. Maintain confidentiality and respect for donors' privacy rights.
  12. Report any issues or concerns to management in a timely manner.
  13. Embody the values and mission of the American Red Cross in all interactions with donors and team members.
  14. Attend and actively participate in team meetings and trainings.
  15. Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification In Phlebotomy: The Candidate Must Hold A Valid Certification In Phlebotomy From A Recognized Institution Or Agency.

  • Knowledge Of Blood Collection Procedures: The Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Blood Collection Procedures, Including Venipuncture, Fingerstick, And Capillary Blood Collection.

  • Experience In Donor Center Environment: Previous Experience Working In A Donor Center Or Blood Bank Is Highly Preferred, As It Demonstrates The Candidate's Familiarity With The Specific Needs And Protocols Of These Environments.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: The Candidate Must Possess Strong Communication Skills To Effectively Interact With Donors, Colleagues, And Other Healthcare Professionals.

  • Commitment To Quality And Safety: Donor Safety Is Of The Utmost Importance In A Phlebotomy Role, So The Candidate Should Have A Strong Commitment To Following Safety Protocols And Ensuring The Quality And Integrity Of Collected Blood Products.
