- Perform phlebotomy procedures on blood donors using a variety of techniques and equipment, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience for the donor.
- Adhere to strict safety and quality control protocols to maintain the integrity of the donated blood.
- Accurately record donor information and maintain detailed documentation of the donation process.
- Ensure proper labeling, storage, and transportation of donated blood samples.
- Provide exceptional customer service to donors, answering questions and addressing any concerns.
- Conduct donor screening and health histories to ensure the safety of both the donor and recipient.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including sanitizing equipment and disposing of biohazard materials.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and timely collection of donations.
- Act as a positive ambassador for the American Red Cross, promoting the importance of blood donation and the impact it has on saving lives.
- Keep up-to-date with industry developments and maintain current knowledge of phlebotomy best practices.
Certified Phlebotomist: The Candidate Should Have A Valid Certification In Phlebotomy From A Recognized Institution.
Prior Experience: At Least 1-2 Years Of Experience Working As A Phlebotomist In A Clinical Or Laboratory Setting Is Preferred.
Knowledge Of Blood Collection Procedures: The Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Blood Collection Procedures, Including Venipuncture, Fingerstick, And Capillary Collection.
Strong Communication Skills: Excellent Communication Skills Are Essential In This Role, As The Candidate Will Be Interacting With Donors And Other Healthcare Professionals On A Daily Basis.
Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: The Candidate Should Be Able To Work Efficiently And Accurately In A Fast-Paced Environment, As Donor Centers Can Get Busy During Peak Hours. Time-Management And Multitasking Skills Are Necessary For This Role.
