- Conduct blood collections from donors in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ensure donor safety and comfort throughout the donation process.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of donor information and blood collections.
- Adhere to all standard operating procedures and safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with donors and team members to provide a positive experience.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of necessary supplies and equipment.
- Perform quality control checks and troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the donation process.
- Follow proper infection control procedures to prevent contamination.
- Participate in training and continuing education to maintain current knowledge and skills.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with other team members to meet donation goals and ensure smooth operations.
- Provide exceptional customer service and promote a positive image of the American Red Cross.
- Follow all regulatory and ethical guidelines set forth by the organization.
- Attend staff meetings and participate in discussions to improve processes and procedures.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions with donors and team members.
Certification In Phlebotomy: The Candidate Should Have A Valid Certification In Phlebotomy From An Accredited Institution, Demonstrating Their Knowledge And Skills In Drawing Blood From Donors.
Experience In Venipuncture: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience In Venipuncture, Preferably In A High-Volume Donor Center Or Blood Bank Setting.
Knowledge Of Blood Donation Procedures: The Candidate Should Possess A Thorough Understanding Of Blood Donation Procedures, Including Donor Screening, Blood Collection, And Post-Donation Care.
Excellent Communication Skills: Donor Center Phlebotomists Must Have Excellent Communication Skills To Interact With Donors And Provide Them With Information About The Donation Process.
Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: Donor Centers Can Be Fast-Paced And Require Phlebotomists To Work Efficiently While Maintaining Accuracy And Attention To Detail. Candidates Should Be Able To Handle A High Volume Of Donors And Work Well Under Pressure.
