
Donor Center Phlebotomist
Hello there! We are currently seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at the American Red Cross Donor Center. As a Donor Center Phlebotomist, you will play a critical role in our life-saving mission by collecting blood donations from our generous donors. - Perform phlebotomy procedures on blood donors in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe donation experience for donors.
- Accurately label, process, and store blood samples for testing and distribution.
- Provide excellent customer service to donors, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of phlebotomy techniques and procedures.
- Assist with donor recruitment and retention efforts.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of donor information.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
- Participate in training and continuing education opportunities as required.
- Adhere to quality control and quality assurance standards.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or supply shortages to management.
- Record and maintain accurate donation and donor records.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure proper handling and processing of blood donations.
- Exhibit a compassionate and empathetic attitude towards donors to create a positive donation experience.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent - Candidates For A Donor Center Phlebotomist Job At American Red Cross Must Have A High School Diploma Or Equivalent To Demonstrate Basic Educational Skills And Knowledge.
Phlebotomy Certification - A Valid Phlebotomy Certification From A Recognized Organization Is Required For This Role. This Certification Ensures That The Candidate Has The Necessary Skills And Training To Perform Phlebotomy Procedures Safely And Accurately.
Previous Experience In Phlebotomy - Candidates Should Have At Least One Year Of Experience Working As A Phlebotomist In A Healthcare Setting. This Experience Should Include Performing Venipuncture, Blood Collection, And Processing Of Blood Specimens.
Excellent Communication Skills - Donor Center Phlebotomists Must Have Excellent Communication Skills To Interact With Donors And Provide Clear Instructions On The Donation Process. They Should Also Be Able To Communicate Effectively With Other Team Members And Healthcare Professionals.
Strong Attention To Detail - Attention To Detail Is Crucial In This Role As Donor Center Phlebotomists Must Accurately Collect And Label Blood Specimens For Testing. They Must Also Follow Strict Protocols To Ensure The Safety And Well-Being Of Donors And Maintain The Integrity Of The Donated Blood.
