Job Description

  1. Manage the scheduling and distribution of platelets to patients in need across the country.
  2. Communicate with hospitals and blood donation centers to determine platelet demand and coordinate deliveries.
  3. Ensure timely and efficient delivery of platelets to meet patient needs.
  4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of platelet inventory and distribution.
  5. Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement efficient processes for platelet scheduling and distribution.
  6. Monitor and report on platelet usage trends to inform future scheduling decisions.
  7. Coordinate with volunteers and staff to ensure adequate staffing levels for platelet collection and distribution.
  8. Train and supervise new team members to ensure they are equipped to handle platelet scheduling responsibilities.
  9. Implement quality control measures to ensure the safety and integrity of platelet donations.
  10. Stay informed on industry developments and changes in protocols related to platelet distribution.
  11. Uphold the mission and values of the American Red Cross in all aspects of the job.
  12. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations in handling patient information.
  13. Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries and concerns from hospitals, blood donation centers, and other stakeholders.
  14. Assist with other tasks and projects as assigned by supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Health Sciences, Business Administration, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Healthcare Scheduling Or Project Management.

  • Knowledge Of Blood Banking And Transfusion Services, Specifically Platelet Donation And Processing.

  • Strong Organizational And Time-Management Skills, With The Ability To Handle Multiple Priorities And Meet Deadlines.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Diverse Teams And Stakeholders.
