
Program Specialist, Disaster Services

- Coordinate and oversee disaster response programs to ensure efficient and effective delivery of aid and support.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders to enhance disaster preparedness and response efforts.
- Assess needs and resources of affected communities to determine appropriate response strategies.
- Train and manage volunteers to assist with disaster response efforts.
- Monitor and evaluate program outcomes to identify areas for improvement and make necessary adjustments.
- Collaborate with other departments and teams within the American Red Cross to ensure a coordinated and cohesive response.
- Stay updated on disaster response policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of program activities and outcomes.
- Communicate and engage with individuals and communities affected by disasters to provide support and resources.
- Represent the American Red Cross at meetings, events, and conferences related to disaster services.
- Assist with fundraising and donation management to support disaster response efforts.
- Participate in disaster drills and exercises to maintain readiness and preparedness.
- Handle administrative tasks and duties related to the disaster services program.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while carrying out program responsibilities.
Bachelor's Degree In Emergency Management, Public Policy, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Disaster Response And Recovery, Preferably With A Non-Profit Organization.
Strong Project Management Skills, Ability To Coordinate And Lead Multiple Tasks And Projects Simultaneously.
Excellent Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal, With The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Diverse Stakeholders.
Knowledge Of Emergency Preparedness And Response Procedures, Including Fema Regulations And Disaster Management Principles.
