
Program Specialist, Disaster Services

- Develop and implement disaster response and recovery programs in collaboration with the Disaster Services team.
- Monitor program effectiveness and make necessary adjustments to ensure efficient and effective delivery of services.
- Serve as a liaison between the American Red Cross and other organizations involved in disaster relief efforts.
- Train and support volunteers and staff in disaster response procedures and protocols.
- Coordinate with community leaders and partners to identify areas in need of disaster services and develop appropriate response plans.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of program activities and outcomes.
- Communicate with disaster survivors and their families to assess their needs and provide appropriate support and resources.
- Collaborate with other departments within the American Red Cross to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive disaster response.
- Stay informed about current disaster trends and best practices in disaster response and incorporate them into program development and implementation.
- Represent the American Red Cross at local and regional meetings and events related to disaster services.
- Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations, in the delivery of disaster services.
- Continuously assess and improve program processes and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Participate in disaster drills and exercises to ensure readiness for potential disasters.
- Provide regular reports and updates to superiors on program activities, outcomes, and challenges.
- Uphold the mission and values of the American Red Cross in all interactions and activities.
Bachelor's Degree In Emergency Management, Public Administration, Or Related Field
Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In Disaster Response And Recovery Operations
Strong Organizational Skills And Ability To Manage Multiple Projects Simultaneously
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work With Diverse Groups And Stakeholders
