
Program Specialist, Disaster Services

- Develop and implement disaster response programs and initiatives in collaboration with the American Red Cross team.
- Support and coordinate disaster relief efforts including shelter management, distribution of supplies, and other necessary tasks.
- Serve as a liaison between the American Red Cross and local, state, and federal agencies to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Conduct needs assessments in affected areas to identify the most pressing needs and develop appropriate response plans.

- Maintain accurate records and reports to track program progress and outcomes.
- Evaluate and make recommendations for improvement of disaster response programs.
- Provide emotional support and assistance to individuals and communities affected by disasters.
- Stay current on disaster response best practices and continuously seek ways to improve the effectiveness of programs.
- Collaborate with other Program Specialists and departments within the American Red Cross to ensure a coordinated and efficient response to disasters.
- Maintain a strong understanding of and adherence to all American Red Cross policies and procedures.
- Act as a representative of the American Red Cross and promote the mission and values of the organization.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills and the ability to make sound decisions in fast-paced and high-stress situations.
Bachelor's Degree In Emergency Management, Public Administration, Or Related Field.
Minimum Of 2-3 Years Experience In Disaster Response And/Or Management.
Knowledge Of Disaster Response Protocols And Procedures.
Strong Communication And Organizational Skills.
Ability To Work Under Pressure And In High-Stress Environments.
