
Program Specialist, Disaster Services

- Coordinate and implement disaster relief programs to support individuals and communities affected by emergencies.
- Collaborate with other team members to develop and execute effective disaster response plans.
- Utilize strong organizational skills to manage and track program resources, including personnel, supplies, and funding.
- Work closely with community leaders and partners to identify areas in need of disaster relief and develop strategic initiatives to address those needs.
- Communicate regularly with volunteers, staff, and community members to provide updates on program activities and gather feedback.
- Conduct training and education sessions to prepare individuals and communities for potential disasters and provide resources for preparedness.
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and make necessary adjustments to ensure successful outcomes.
- Serve as a liaison between the American Red Cross and government agencies, community organizations, and other stakeholders involved in disaster relief efforts.
- Stay informed about current disaster relief policies and procedures and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Maintain accurate records and reports on program activities, expenses, and outcomes.
- Represent the American Red Cross at community events and meetings to promote disaster preparedness and response efforts.
- Provide support and guidance to volunteers and team members, including training, resources, and recognition for their contributions.
- Demonstrate a high level of empathy and compassion while working with individuals and communities in crisis.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve and expand disaster relief programs and services to better meet the needs of those affected by disasters.
Bachelor's Degree In Emergency Management, Disaster Preparedness, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Experience In Disaster Response And/Or Recovery Operations.
Strong Understanding Of Federal Emergency Management Agency (Fema) Regulations And Guidelines.
Excellent Organizational And Project Management Skills.
Demonstrated Ability To Work Collaboratively With Diverse Teams And Stakeholders, Including Government Agencies, Volunteers, And Community Partners.
