
General Engineer/Architect

The Architect of the Capitol is seeking a passionate individual to join our team as a General Engineer/Architect. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and overseeing a variety of construction projects that maintain the historic buildings and grounds on the Capitol campus.To be successful in this position, you should have a Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or a related field and a minimum of three years of experience in engineering or architecture. You should also have excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence. Responsibilities:
- Design and plan construction projects for the Capitol campus.
- Ensure projects are completed according to regulations and standards.
- Monitor and inspect ongoing construction projects and suggest improvements.
- Create accurate cost estimates for projects and maintain budget records.
- Maintain records of all construction project documentation.
- Develop project plans and timelines.
- Oversee the work of contractors and other construction personnel.
- Establish safety procedures and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Provide technical advice and support to stakeholders.
- Research and analyze best practices in engineering and architecture.
