  1. Provide expert counseling services to a diverse student body in order to support and guide them towards academic and personal success at Arizona State University.
  2. Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the university's policies, procedures, and resources to effectively advise students.
  3. Build and maintain positive relationships with students to establish trust and create a safe and supportive environment for counseling.
  4. Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address a variety of student needs, including academic, personal, and career-related concerns.
  5. Utilize a variety of counseling techniques and strategies to assist students in overcoming challenges and achieving their goals.
  6. Collaborate with other university departments and resources to ensure students have access to the necessary support and services.
  7. Stay up-to-date on current trends and best practices in counseling to continually improve the quality of services provided to students.
  8. Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions and any relevant student information.
  9. Participate in professional development opportunities and training to enhance counseling skills and knowledge.
  10. Serve as a role model and mentor to junior counselors, providing guidance and support as needed.
  11. Actively contribute to the university's mission and promote a positive campus culture.
  12. Adhere to ethical and legal standards in all counseling practices.
  13. Continuously assess the effectiveness of counseling services and make recommendations for improvements as needed.
  14. Other duties as assigned by the Counseling Department or university administration.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Counseling Or A Related Field: A Senior Counselor At Arizona State University Should Possess A Strong Educational Background In Counseling Or A Related Field To Effectively Understand And Address The Needs Of Students.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Counseling: To Be Considered For The Senior Counselor Position, Candidates Should Have At Least 5 Years Of Experience Working As A Counselor In A College Or University Setting.

  • State Licensure Or Certification: Arizona State University Requires Its Senior Counselors To Hold A Valid State License Or Certification In Counseling Or A Related Field.

  • Knowledge Of Current Counseling Techniques And Best Practices: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Current Counseling Techniques And Best Practices To Effectively Support And Guide Students Through Their Academic And Personal Challenges.
