  1. Develop personalized nutrition plans for patients based on their medical history, current health status, and dietary needs.
  2. Monitor and track patients' progress on their nutrition plans, making adjustments as necessary.
  3. Educate patients and their families about the importance of nutrition in promoting overall health and wellness.
  4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.
  5. Stay updated on the latest research and developments in the field of nutrition and incorporate them into patient care.
  6. Conduct nutritional assessments and provide recommendations for patients with specific health conditions.
  7. Document all patient interactions and maintain accurate and organized records.
  8. Provide counseling and support to patients in implementing and maintaining healthy eating habits.
  9. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and make treatment recommendations.
  10. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in patient care and maintain patient confidentiality.
  11. Act as a resource for other healthcare professionals regarding nutrition-related inquiries.
  12. Continuously evaluate and improve nutrition programs and services offered by Ascension Health.
  13. Attend and participate in professional development activities to maintain and enhance knowledge and skills.
  14. Maintain a safe and clean work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nutrition Or Related Field: A Clinical Nutritionist At Ascension Health Should Possess A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nutrition, Dietetics, Or A Related Field. This Education Provides A Strong Foundation In The Science Of Nutrition And Prepares Individuals To Provide Evidence-Based Medical Nutrition Therapy.

  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (Rdn) Certification: Ascension Health Requires All Clinical Nutritionists To Be Certified As A Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (Rdn) By The Commission On Dietetic Registration (Cdr). This Certification Ensures That The Candidate Has Met The Rigorous Academic And Professional Requirements To Provide Nutrition Services.

  • Experience In Clinical Settings: Clinical Nutritionists At Ascension Health Should Have Prior Experience Working In Clinical Settings, Such As Hospitals, Long-Term Care Facilities, Or Outpatient Clinics. This Experience Demonstrates The Candidate's Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Healthcare Environment And Provide Nutrition Services To Patients With Complex Medical Conditions.

  • Knowledge Of Evidence-Based Nutrition Practices: Ascension Health Values Evidence-Based Practices And Expects Clinical Nutritionists To Have A Strong Understanding Of The Latest Research In The Field Of Nutrition. This Knowledge Allows The Candidate To Provide The Most Current And Effective Nutrition Recommendations To Patients.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Clinical Nutritionist At Ascension Health, The Candidate Will Work Closely With Patients, Healthcare Teams, And Other Stakeholders. Therefore, Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential To Effectively Educate, Counsel, And Collaborate With Others To Improve Patient Outcomes.
