Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or A Related Field: A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology, Anatomy, And Physiology Is Essential For An Ecmo Specialist To Effectively Monitor And Manage Patients On Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (Ecmo) Therapy.
Certification In Ecmo: Candidates For An Ecmo Specialist Position Should Be Certified By The Extracorporeal Life Support Organization (Elso) As An Ecmo Specialist. This Certification Demonstrates A High Level Of Competency In The Management Of Ecmo Therapy.
Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In Critical Care Nursing: As Ecmo Therapy Is Typically Used For Critically Ill Patients, Experience In A Critical Care Setting Is Essential For An Ecmo Specialist.
