
Patient Transporter

- Transport patients safely and efficiently to and from various locations within the healthcare facility, including but not limited to diagnostic tests, procedures, and appointments.
- Ensure patients are comfortable and at ease during transportation, addressing any concerns or needs they may have.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing clear instructions and answering any questions or concerns they may have.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, ensuring the proper use of equipment and following infection control measures.
- Collaborate with other healthcare staff to coordinate patient transportation and ensure timely and efficient care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient transport activities.
- Monitor and report any changes in patient condition or behavior during transport.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including patient transport equipment and vehicles.

High School Diploma Or Ged: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Typically Required For A Patient Transporter Position At Ascension Health. This Demonstrates A Basic Level Of Education And Ability To Understand And Follow Instructions.
Cpr Certification: Patient Transporters May Be Required To Provide Basic Life Support In Emergency Situations. Therefore, Having A Valid Cpr Certification Is A Necessary Qualification For This Role.
Physical Stamina: Patient Transporters Are Often Required To Push And Pull Heavy Equipment Or Stretchers, And May Need To Lift And Transfer Patients. Therefore, Physical Stamina And Strength Are Important Qualifications For This Job.
Interpersonal Skills: Patient Transporters Interact With Patients, Their Families, And Healthcare Staff On A Daily Basis. Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Necessary To Effectively Interact With Individuals From Diverse Backgrounds And Maintain A Positive And Respectful Attitude.
