Job Description

If you have a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, current state pharmacist license, and at least 3 years of experience in a supervisory or management role, we want to hear from you!   1. Oversee and manage all aspects of the pharmacy department, including dispensing, inventory management, and staff scheduling.
  2. Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations related to the safe handling and dispensing of medications.
  3. Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve the efficiency and accuracy of medication dispensing.
  4. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure appropriate and effective medication therapy for patients.
  5. Serve as a resource for drug information and provide clinical support to staff and other healthcare professionals.
  6. Train and supervise pharmacy staff, providing guidance and feedback to ensure high-quality patient care.
  7. Monitor and analyze pharmacy metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to optimize performance.
  8. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to medication dispensing and patient care.
  9. Participate in the hiring and onboarding process for new pharmacy staff.
  10. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development.
  11. Stay current on industry developments and new medications, and make recommendations for implementing new practices or technologies.
  12. Represent the pharmacy department at meetings and committees within the organization.
  13. Address any patient or staff concerns or complaints related to the pharmacy department.
  14. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines.
  15. Promote and uphold the mission and values of Ascension Health, while striving to provide the highest level of patient care.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Pharmacy Or Doctor Of Pharmacy (Pharm.d.) From An Accredited Institution

  • Active State Pharmacist License And In Good Standing With The State Board Of Pharmacy

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience As A Licensed Pharmacist, Preferably In A Leadership Or Management Role

  • Knowledge And Understanding Of Federal And State Laws And Regulations Related To Pharmacy Practice, Including Controlled Substances And Medication Safety

  • Strong Communication, Organizational, And Leadership Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Manage A Team And Collaborate With Other Healthcare Professionals.
