- Greet and welcome patients and their families with a compassionate and friendly demeanor.
- Assist in the admission process by collecting and verifying patient information, insurance, and other necessary documents.
- Maintain patient records and ensure accuracy and confidentiality.
- Assist in scheduling appointments and procedures for patients.
- Communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to provide updates and information as needed.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment on the unit.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the unit, including patient rooms and common areas.
- Assist clinical team members with various tasks such as taking vitals, collecting specimens, and transporting patients.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
- Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare team to address any concerns or needs.
- Participate in training and education programs to stay updated on protocols and procedures.
- Collaborate with other unit assistants and healthcare team members to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
- Perform clerical tasks such as answering phone calls, filing, and completing paperwork.

Knowledge Of Cardiovascular Procedures: A Unit Assistant Should Possess A Thorough Understanding Of Cardiovascular Procedures, Including Pre- And Post-Operative Care, Medication Management, And Monitoring Of Vital Signs.

A Unit Assistant Must Be Able To Communicate Effectively With Patients, Families, And Colleagues To Ensure Clear And Concise Information Is Exchanged.
