- Provide daily care and maintenance for all animals in our facility, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to the appropriate team members.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary environment for the animals, including regular cleaning of cages, kennels, and common areas.
- Assist with medical procedures and treatments for animals under the supervision of a veterinarian.
- Handle and restrain animals in a safe and compassionate manner during daily tasks and medical procedures.
- Ensure all animals are properly identified, tagged, and recorded in our database.
- Interact with potential adopters, providing information about the animals and assisting with the adoption process.
- Educate the public on responsible pet ownership and the importance of spaying/neutering.
- Assist in organizing and coordinating adoption events and fundraisers.
- Keep accurate records of animal behavior, medical treatments, and other relevant information.
- Collaborate with other team members to identify and address any issues or concerns regarding animal welfare.
- Stay updated on current animal welfare laws and regulations, and ensure compliance within the facility.
- Provide exceptional customer service to all visitors and maintain a positive and welcoming atmosphere in the facility.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to continuously improve knowledge and skills.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times, representing Atlantic County in a positive light.
Experience Working With A Variety Of Animals: Candidates For The Animal Attendant Job Should Have Prior Experience Handling And Caring For A Diverse Range Of Animals, Including Domestic Pets, Farm Animals, And Wildlife.
Knowledge Of Animal Behavior And Welfare: A Strong Understanding Of Animal Behavior And Welfare Is Essential For An Animal Attendant To Effectively Care For And Interact With Animals In A Responsible And Compassionate Manner.
Physical Fitness And Stamina: This Role May Involve Physically Demanding Tasks Such As Lifting And Carrying Heavy Objects, Standing For Long Periods, And Working In Various Weather Conditions. Candidates Should Possess The Physical Fitness And Stamina To Meet These Demands.
