- Provide excellent customer service by greeting and assisting library patrons in a friendly and professional manner.
- Assist patrons with finding and checking out books, movies, and other library materials.
- Answer questions and provide information about library services, events, and resources.
- Assist with the organization and maintenance of library materials, including shelving books, processing new items, and weeding out old or damaged materials.
- Help patrons with using library technology, such as computers and printers.
- Actively promote library programs and events to patrons and the community.
- Handle cash transactions, including collecting fines and fees for late or lost materials.
- Assist with managing the library's online catalog and database systems.
- Help with creating and updating displays and exhibits to showcase library materials and promote reading.
- Collaborate with other library staff to plan and implement programs and events.
- Maintain a clean and organized library space.
- Stay up-to-date on current literature and recommend books and other materials to patrons.
- Handle and resolve any patron issues or complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
- Keep accurate records of library usage and materials borrowed.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions to stay informed about library policies and procedures.
- Continuously strive to improve and enhance the overall patron experience at the library.
- Other duties as assigned by the Library Manager.
