Job Description

At Atrium Health, we are looking for a Clinical Coder who is passionate about breaking new ground in healthcare. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in medical coding and records management, and strong attention to detail. This is a great opportunity to join a team of committed and talented professionals who strive to make a positive impact in the lives of our patients.To be successful in this role, you must have a degree in health sciences or equivalent, be certified by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC), and have at least three years of relevant experience working with ICD-10 codes. We are looking for someone who is analytical, detail-oriented, and highly organized. The ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines is a must. Additionally, strong communication skills and the ability to work well with others are essential for this role.

Responsibilities:

  1. Analyze and accurately assign ICD-10 codes to patient records.
  2. Monitor and ensure accuracy of medical coding and records management.
  3. Communicate with other team members and healthcare professionals to ensure accuracy of coding and records management.
  4. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding standards and regulations.
  5. Create and maintain accurate and organized medical coding records.
  6. Monitor and ensure accuracy of coding process in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  7. Handle and resolve coding discrepancies and inconsistencies.
  8. Respond to coding inquiries and provide coding assistance.
  9. Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate coding and records management.
  10. Develop and implement coding policies and procedures.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Health Information Management Or Related Field

  • Certified Coding Specialist (Ccs) Or Certified Coding Associate (Cca) Credential From The American Health Information Management Association (Ahima)

  • Knowledge Of Icd--Cm

  • Cpt-

  • Hcpcs

  • And Reimbursement Methodologies

  • At Least Two Years Of Recent Experience In Coding And Abstracting In An Acute Care Setting
