
Clinical Pharmacist - Critical Care

- Dispensing Medications: Dispense medications accurately and efficiently to patients in a critical care setting.
- Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the most appropriate and effective medication therapies for critically ill patients.
- Assess Patient Needs: Utilize clinical knowledge and expertise to assess patient needs and make recommendations for optimal drug therapy.
- Monitor Medication Therapy: Regularly monitor and evaluate the effectiveness and safety of medication therapy for critically ill patients.
- Educate Patients and Caregivers: Educate patients and their caregivers on proper medication use, side effects, and potential drug interactions.
- Provide Drug Information: Serve as a drug information resource for patients, healthcare providers, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Contribute to Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and improve overall pharmaceutical care in the critical care setting.
- Maintain Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of medication therapy and patient progress.
- Stay Current on Developments: Stay informed and up-to-date on new developments in the field of critical care pharmacy to provide the most current and evidence-based care.
- Adhere to Legal and Ethical Standards: Adhere to all legal and ethical standards and regulations related to the practice of pharmacy in the critical care setting.
- Train and Supervise Staff: Train and supervise pharmacy technicians and other support staff to ensure efficient and effective medication dispensing and monitoring.
- Maintain Professionalism: Demonstrate professionalism and a commitment to the highest level of patient care and customer service at all times.
Doctor Of Pharmacy (Pharmd) Degree From An Accredited School Of Pharmacy
Completion Of A Post-Graduate Residency Program In Critical Care Pharmacy
Board Certification In Critical Care Pharmacy (Bcccp) From The Board Of Pharmacy Specialties
Current And Unrestricted Pharmacist License In The State Of Employment
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Critical Care Pharmacy Setting, Preferably Within A Hospital Or Health System
