  1. Dispensing Medications: Dispense medications accurately and efficiently to patients in a critical care setting.
  2. Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the most appropriate and effective medication therapies for critically ill patients.
  3. Assess Patient Needs: Utilize clinical knowledge and expertise to assess patient needs and make recommendations for optimal drug therapy.
  4. Monitor Medication Therapy: Regularly monitor and evaluate the effectiveness and safety of medication therapy for critically ill patients.
  5. Educate Patients and Caregivers: Educate patients and their caregivers on proper medication use, side effects, and potential drug interactions.
  6. Provide Drug Information: Serve as a drug information resource for patients, healthcare providers, and other members of the healthcare team.
  7. Contribute to Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and improve overall pharmaceutical care in the critical care setting.
  8. Maintain Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of medication therapy and patient progress.
  9. Stay Current on Developments: Stay informed and up-to-date on new developments in the field of critical care pharmacy to provide the most current and evidence-based care.
  10. Adhere to Legal and Ethical Standards: Adhere to all legal and ethical standards and regulations related to the practice of pharmacy in the critical care setting.
  11. Train and Supervise Staff: Train and supervise pharmacy technicians and other support staff to ensure efficient and effective medication dispensing and monitoring.
  12. Maintain Professionalism: Demonstrate professionalism and a commitment to the highest level of patient care and customer service at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Doctor Of Pharmacy (Pharmd) Degree From An Accredited School Of Pharmacy

  • Completion Of A Post-Graduate Residency Program In Critical Care Pharmacy

  • Board Certification In Critical Care Pharmacy (Bcccp) From The Board Of Pharmacy Specialties

  • Current And Unrestricted Pharmacist License In The State Of Employment

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Critical Care Pharmacy Setting, Preferably Within A Hospital Or Health System
