- Accurately interpret and convey medical information between healthcare providers and patients with limited English proficiency.
- Serve as a cultural and language bridge between healthcare providers and patients.
- Facilitate effective communication and understanding between healthcare providers and patients.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Continuously improve and update knowledge of medical terminology in both English and at least one other language.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure accurate and timely interpretation services.
- Maintain professional and respectful relationships with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
- Assist with scheduling and coordinating interpretation services for appointments, procedures, and other healthcare interactions.
- Provide support and guidance to patients and families with limited English proficiency to help them navigate the healthcare system.
- Act as an advocate for patients with limited English proficiency to ensure their needs and concerns are addressed.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to maintain certification and improve language skills.

- Maintain a high level of accuracy and professionalism in all interpretation services.

Fluency In English And At Least One Other Language Commonly Spoken By Patients At Atrium Health, Such As Spanish, Vietnamese, Or Arabic.
Prior Experience Working As A Medical Interpreter Or In A Healthcare Setting, With A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Procedures.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Convey Information Between Patients And Healthcare Providers.
Familiarity With Cultural Nuances And Sensitivity To Diverse Patient Populations, Ensuring Accurate And Respectful Interpretation.
Completion Of A Healthcare Interpreter Training Program Or Certification, Such As The National Board Of Certification For Medical Interpreters Or Certification Commission For Healthcare Interpreters.
